Widely observed low rates of input utilization with potential yield gaps reduced through input intensification in cereals. The average sorghum yields in Burkina Faso are estimated at 0.8 tons/hectare, despite agronomic estimates of 2 tons/hectare. Why do not farmers adopt new seed and/or fertilizers to increase yields? Are demand or supply constraints potentially more binding?
