This event in Ethiopia presented the challenges of uninsured agricultural risk and the role of formal insurance products in meeting this challenge. The main concepts of index insurance was introduced and how to implement index insurance.
The event also included presentations on work being conducted by the I4 teams and Oxfam America to research questions on how to design and delivery agricultural index insurance, and how to build capacity for delivering insurance. The plans for forthcoming work were also presented and discussed.
