Presentation: Building Market Linkages for Smallholder Farmers in Uganda

With a lack of market integration in African markets there are major concerns about the building market linkages. Because of poor integration, highly variable prices across time are prevalent and often result with farmers selling low during harvest time and buying high during the off-season. This leads to high search costs and even poorer integration across space.

This presentation is based on the AMA Innovation Lab projects for the BASIS AMA CRSP/I4 Index Insurance Innovation Initiative Technical Committee Meeting. This event was a gathering of researchers and stakeholders involved with the Index Insurance Innovation Initiative (I4) at UC Davis.

This presentation took place at George Washington University, United States on November 6, 2014.
