Bio

Abbie Turiansky is a development economist whose research uses behavioral and experimental economics to explore the social behavior related to the provision and management of public goods, particularly in the context of agricultural development. In her dissertation, Turiansky used field experiments to examine how farmers may be encouraged to behave in a more socially optimal manner when faced with a classic collective action dilemma to provide a public good, and how those farmers respond to a new agricultural technology that is highly dependent on the public good. She completed her Ph.D. in agricultural and resource economics at UC Davis.
