A. H. M. Saiful Islam is an associate professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Bangladesh Agricultural University. A development economist, Islam's research interest focuses on adoption and impact assessment of different technologies, polices and institutional innovations with particular focus on developing country’s agriculture by using a range of cross sectional and panel micro econometric techniques including experimental and quasi-experimental methods. He has been involved in a range of research projects and consultancy works, including contract farming, choice experiment, aquaculture/livestock and aquafeed/livestock value chain, post-harvest loss and waste, food and nutrition security, shocks and seasonality, climate change impacts, and ag-nutrition nexus with IFPRI, WorldFish, AVRDC, IFAD, World Bank, CIP, FAO, Center for Development research (ZEF), Germany, Tufts University and Johns Hopkins University. Islam holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Bonn, Germany.
