Devex Features MRR Innovation Lab as USAID Shifts toward Resilience
On September 5, 2019, Devex featured the new MRR Innovation Lab at UC Davis as part of the broader shift within USAID toward a focus on resilience. With a growing threat of drought and other weather-related disasters, a focus on resilience creates opportunities to reduce the total number of families in need.
“Our job is to take risks,” Michael Carter, director of the MRR Innovation Lab and professor of agricultural and resource economics at UC Davis, told Devex. “If we’re going to change the conversation, we can’t just keep doing the same old thing.”
