This MRR Innovation Lab project tests multiple measures of resilience with data from a pilot program in Bangladesh for women in rural households with incomes below the poverty line.
Risk and poverty are key, inextricable concerns in Bangladesh, Ghana and Ethiopia. The research will focus on the impact of idiosyncratic risk on asset poverty and the mechanism available to redress it.
This evaluation will provide the first rigorous evidence on the effectiveness of micro-health insurance on the ability of the rural poor to protect their economic well-being and livelihoods while maintaining access to quality healthcare.
