Although yields have been improving in Mexico since the 80's, Mexico has been producing low enough outputs to match much more poorer countries, especially among small land holders. There is some debate whether observations variations reflect the essential heterogeneity , or constraints to optimal behavior, but there is hope to better understand both of the nature.
