John A. Maluccio's research interests lie in the microeconometric analysis of topics in development economics, particularly the determinants of health and education, program evaluation, and the long-term consequences of early childhood malnutrition and poverty. He has carried out research in a number of countries in both Africa and Latin America. After earning his B.A. in mathematics and economics from Amherst College (1986), Maluccio served in the U.S. Peace Corps-Kenya, where he taught high school math and science. He was a Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute in Washington D.C. Maluccio holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University.
