Bio

Isaac Osei-Akoto is a senior research fellow with ISSER, where he is also a senior measurement, learning and evaluation advisor and head of the Economics Division. His areas of research include development economics, the design and analysis of socio-economic surveys, financing and behavioral issues on health care and the economic valuation of policy interventions in social services. Over the last fifteen years he has served on various University of Ghana technical and management committees and institutional boards. He has extensive experience in conducting research projects across Ghana and West Africa and has played key roles in many research projects within the West African sub-region, publishing widely in the areas of household economics, poverty, health care financing, social protection and other related fields. He has consulted for the Government of Ghana, World Bank, UNICEF, UNDP, AGRA, DFID and USAID, among others on economic development issues. Osei-Akoto holds a Ph.D. in development economics from the University of Bonn and a M.Phil. in economics from the University of Ghana, Legon.
